WestJet Airlines 737-8 C-GRAX msn 60513/6603 seen here at Boeing Field, Nov 6, departing on a test flight as BOE404. Note that this is fleet #305 for some reason and not #304 as you would expect.

WestJet never has fleet numbers that end in 4
ReplyDeleteThanks, Robert. What is the reason for that? The Chinese have a habit of not using 4 as the end digit in their numbers too.
ReplyDeleteWhen WestJet started many of the original maintenance personnel came from PWA/ CP Air and they brought with them a superstition if you will. A number of accidents/incidents occurred over the years involving flight numbers and/or tail numbers ending in a 4. The practice has stuck.
ReplyDeleteCheers
